short story long

A miracle occured! lol Not really but that's what happened:

Maybe someone remembers; about 3 weeks ago my TV broke. But it wasn't broken broken. Everything was still working properly except for the CRT (I'm using a 18year old CRT TV which actually belongs to my parents) which remained black when I switched the TV on.

Last night, I was already lying in my bed and listening to a crisis line on TV. <-Fortunately I don't need the picture for that program so I can still enjoy it with sound only xD So I was lying there, facing to the wall when suddenly a quite bright light appeared in my room. o_O 'Cos I was already half asleep my first thought was "ALIENS??!". Apparently I watched too much X Files in my youth. *lol* But it turned out that it came from the TV!! O__o There was a picture on the screen again! w00t!!
...when I turned around in my bed to check for the lightsource. I thought it came through the window and it would never occur to me that it could be the TV. That's why I was so surprised. But WTF happened!?? It's been black for like 3 weeks, I used it a few nights for listening to that program and now suddenly the CRT decided "oh well, let's function again.." O_O? Maybe it's just a loose connection somewhere but then why hasn't it turned on earlier? I've tried it so often during the last weeks. However I haven't touched the TV for some days now so why did the picture on the screen return so suddenly? That's really weird! But I'm happy, I can continue with P3 with shiny colors/screen! OMG! XD~ ...and watch some shows on TV of course.
Something's still not ok with the CRT, it still turned on a few times today but with a slight delay which is not normal. But I'm really happy that it works again. There's just the question 'for how long?'. ^^;

I need a new(er) TV sometime anyway but I haven't found a good one for cheap yet. :/ And actually I don't want one..the only real reason I need it is to play games which look terrible on my PC due to the really crappy video card. But if my current TV goes on strike again I could also play on the PC. I just need one regular CRT with 60hz capabilities, those LCDs are far too expensive. x_X Besides I won't buy such a thing if it doesn't support full HD and all that high end stuff. For now it's useless, we don't even have digital tv or a HD DVD player, not to speak of the money for the insane purchase costs. x_x; And I know I will need one when I'm going to get a PS3 in the far future when it's affordable and FFXIII together with a PS3 slim version are out. ^^;
